Student Achievement
/Dear Salesian Family,
Throughout the year, we continue to focus on staff development, which enhances our ability to meet the needs of our students by providing differentiated instruction and for support all our students.
As a result of moving to a ratio of one to one Chromebooks, our students are using Google Apps, IXL Math, and Khan Academy. These tools are used to further integrate technology into all aspects of their curriculum. Mastery of these skills are a requirement for high achievement of all our students. This type of rigor helps our students to reach academic success through hard work and strong study habits with in turn helps them to become lifelong learners. We know that when we foster a passion for learning and support the success of each student, we will see each of their learning strategies aligned and authentic.
I encourage you to take time to dialogue with your child as you drive from home to school or school to sports activities. Celebrate your child’s success and continue to support the untiring efforts and preparation that our teachers dedicate to every lesson they present. Together we can help our students demonstrate personal responsibility and discipline in reaching their academic goals. We can lead them to unlock the power of their potential. Take the time open Gradelink which is a portal that our school provides for you and your child to keep informed and updated on classwork, homework, projects, and tests. Take a moment to set “alerts” for your child’s grades both HIGH and low.
With the help of the administration, our teachers and you, our parents, we will continue raising the bar and seeing the fruit of the hard-earned work for your child and in your child.
It is through the Preventive system of education passed on to us by Don Bosco that we strive to inspire our students to take ownership of their learning. There is no doubt that our young people to rise to the occasion as they prepare for a greater future. Thank you for your continual support and trust in Salesian.
God bless!
