Smile!
/Dear Salesian Family,
Salesian has adopted the practice of selecting a virtue to strengthen in our lives each month. This virtue is presented at the start of the month during morning assembly.
During August, we have chosen to focus on the virtue of a 'smile.' Each morning during our assembly, I share a brief story with the children, highlighting a smile's significance and beauty. A smile is a priceless form of universal communication; it often elicits a reciprocal smile from others.
Observing a small child can evoke a sense of joy that naturally manifests as a gentle smile while encountering a calm elderly individual often inspires a warm smile in return. This simple gesture transcends verbal communication and can brighten someone's day. We foster a positive environment that can profoundly impact others' lives by sharing smiles with those around us. This simple act creates a ripple effect, spreading joy effortlessly throughout our surroundings.
Have you ever noticed that some people constantly smile as if smiling is their way of spreading their light to everyone around them? A person’s smile is one of the noblest things that you can share with someone else without even going too much out of your way. With a simple act of a genuine smile, you will never know how much you can brighten a person’s day.
God bless,
Sr. Carmen, FMA
