Dear Salesian Family,

As Salesian educators we find our greatest strength in our Catholic Identity. It is the charism of our founders, St. John Bosco and St. Mary Mazzarello that permeate our school. The educational philosophy of our founders is the foundation of our school’s mission. Following their model, instruction in our Catholic faith is integrated into all aspects of home, school, church and playground, using Gospel values and Catholic tradition with a strong emphasis on the Marian dimension.

We encourage our students to participate responsibly in service within their parish and local civic community as well as the world at large. We are so blessed to have a very active Student Council led by Mrs. Henderson, that seeks out projects to keep our school family involved in the line of service to others. We have helped our Salesian Missions in starting a center to help educate immigrants, and we have also conducted a “Penny War” to raise money for the program, “Get On the Bus”. As the year progresses, we will continue getting involved in projects that create opportunities for our students to deepen their commitment to be of service for others.

It is our goal to encourage our students to develop an on-going community service. It is by your example of service that your children grow and develop their sense of belonging to the greater community, primarily their parish. Together we fulfill Don Bosco’s dream of forming the young to be “good Christians and honest citizens”.

God bless,

Sr. Carmen, FMA
