End of the School Year ...
/Dear Salesian Family,
Our school year has come to a close; it has flown by so quickly. It has been a joy to see our students grow and become more confident, ready to move on to the next grade level. We have been so blessed to have some wonderful things take place throughout the school year.
Let us walk down memory lane and touch upon some of the highlights around campus this year.
· We began in August with the final stages of the construction of our covered walkways. This was so badly needed, and it was completed just as the strong winds and rain began to hit hard.
· Our library had a marvelous facelift! Mrs. Sara Triacca initiated a totally new arrangement of our library books to make them more accessible for our students to reach and enjoy. Through her wise and resourceful search, she managed to find a ‘Book Drop Box,’ which we keep in the cafeteria so as students come for morning assembly, they are able to return their library books on time. The attractiveness of the library has not only given it a fresh look but has encouraged and heightened interest in reading. Mrs. Triacca has also started a great program with Junior Librarians who assist her in collecting and organizing books that are returned.
· Our annual Gala and Auction were a great success. The main focus of this fundraiser is to bridge the gap between tuition and the per capita cost. We are indeed grateful for your generosity and that of our business donors who help support Salesian. Through the generosity of Mrs. Race, who chaired the auction, and the Auction Team, it was a very fruitful event. Not only were we able to help offset our operational expenses, but we were also able to “Fund-a-Need'' for hospitality items used at our school community events. We are indeed grateful for your generosity and that of our business donors who continue to support Salesian.
· Our annual run to raise funds for marketing took a new twist as the “ Color Run”. Thanks to Erica Carroll, who took the lead in organizing it, our students enjoyed this spectacular event. The funds raised for this year will be used for marketing Salesian and updating our school website, and upgrading our campus security cameras.
· Our Booster Club hosted their Golf Tournament at Spring Hills Golf Course. Their aim is to support our athletic and afterschool sports programs in their referee fees, uniforms, equipment, and many other items that support this program. Thank you to all the business sponsors and golfers who participated in this tournament.
· We ended the year on a high note with our school community event, Food Truck Night! It was wonderful to see our families, alumni, and friends of Salesian at this festive evening event.
There were so many other enjoyable experiences that we cannot begin to list them all. We are proud to be Salesian and continue to share our spirit with everyone.
God bless,
Sr. Carmen, FMA
