Summer Time Fun

Dear Salesian Families,

Summer is here in full swing! It gives us an opportunity as family to take time out to enjoy each other’s company. It is a time to visit relatives and friends. It is a time to enjoy the simple things in life. Perhaps a family day at the beach or sitting out in the shade drinking a cold glass of lemonade watching your children play. What about something so simple as walking around barefoot just to feel the cool floor or sandy beach.

Relaxing might even be something as simple as sitting on a porch swing watching the clouds gently sail across the sky or admiring a colorful sunset while sharing stories with our children of when you were growing up.

Summer gives you a desire to smile and relax. Take a moment to think of the simplicity of looking at a flower and its many beautiful and colorful petals. Summer is about enjoying the magical freshness of a new day. All this is part of creating space for the One who made the world for us to enjoy. The God who loves us so much and has given us a gift in nature. So often we pass by so quickly and take it all for granted. Let us take a moment to thank Him as we gather to express our gratitude in prayer to a God whose love knows no bounds. May the rest of your summer give you many wonderful reasons to smile!
