Good afternoon parents!

I would like to begin by apologizing for not being in contact last week- unfortunately, I had a medical emergency that required me to be out the whole week. I appreciate you and your child’s flexibility and understanding as you continued the weekly routine.

Due to this absence, I was not able to prepare homework packets for this week. We will be reviewing in class the lessons that were missed last week, so there will be no homework this week. If you were unable to finish the homework packet last week, I ask that you take the opportunity this week to complete it.

We have a few fun activities happening this week: tomorrow, Wednesday November 13th, student council will be conducting a very special fundraiser for the second harvest food bank. In addition to the food donations we are continuing to collect, your student will be able to purchase a free dress day for $1. Students may come to school tomorrow in free dress, and Mrs. Henderson will be collecting dollars in carpool in the morning. Please remember our free dress guidelines and follow the guidelines for dress code outlined in the student handbook.

In addition to this fundraiser, student council will also be offering a bake sale this Thursday, November 14th during lunch. Please send your child with cash to purchase a special baked good made by a few of the teachers and students.

This Friday, November 15th, we will be having our Turkey Trot fundraiser! Students will be running laps around the track immediately after lunch to raise money for our school. If you are available to join us, please do! I will send more details once the schedule is set.

Finally, we will be having our parent-teacher conferences next Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday. These are all half-days with no aftercare available, so please adjust your schedules accordingly. Also, please look out for the email I will send you with your detailed conference times. If your scheduled time no longer works for you, please email me so we can make adjustments. I am looking forward to meeting with you all!
