Weekly Update 11/18/2019
/Good afternoon parents!
I hope you all had a great weekend. We have a few announcements and reminders for this week:
Last Friday, November 15th we had our Turkey Trot fundraiser. The students had so much fun running the track as they were cheered on by the rest of the school- it was truly heartwarming to see the sense of community and support the students had for one another.
This Wednesday, Thursday and Friday are all half-days for parent-teacher conferences, so dismissal is at noon. There will be no aftercare available on these days to accommodate the meetings. I have personally emailed you all with your scheduled conference time. I look forward to meeting with you all!
Next Monday, November 25th we will be having our annual Thanksgiving Friendship Feast! During this time, our class will spend the morning learning all about the Native American tribe that occupied our area, learning traditional dances and recreating a traditional headdress. Starting at 12:00, we will join the first-grade class (who will be portraying the pilgrims) to share a friendship feast! This is such a special, fun way to introduce our students to the history of the first Thanksgiving meal. Although lunch will be provided to the students, I do recommend sending your student with extra food if you know they tend to be picky eaters. If you are available during this time, please join us!
Finally, next Tuesday, November 26th is a scheduled half-day. We will be participating in a special Thanksgiving Mass from 11:00-12:00. Please make sure your student is dressed in full-dress uniform. Dismissal is immediately following mass and starts off our Thanksgiving holiday break (November 27th-29th). I hope you spend the break thanking God for all our many blessings and spending some well-deserved quality time with your families!
Have a wonderful week,
Miss Jones
