Homework for the Week of October 14, 2019
Note: I understand that we all live busy lives and time is precious, but many students are forgetting or just not doing their homework.
Why homework is important?
It reinforces what was taught in class
It helps students organize themselves
It tells me, as the teacher what they understand and what they don’t understand, when they work independently
It teaches responsibility. Can the student bring home the necessary books... to complete the homework, and can they bring it back to school completed?
It helps foster study skills which will be needed in the future.
As I tell/ask the kids: Would you go to your game, music lesson, martial arts, etc unprepared? Would you forget your necessary equipment for the task? And, if you did forget, how would your coach, sansai or music/dance instructor react?
Homework is important, so please put in the time and bring it back to school.
No Spelling: Short Week! Monday was a holiday and Friday we have a field trip.
*** Many students are forgetting to bring in their spelling packets on Friday. This does affect their grade. Remember to study your words each week. Every Friday unless notified there is a spelling assessment.
Math: Multiplication and Division: Practice at home and get your basic facts memorized.
Tuesday 10/15: Workbook 3A/Exercise 8 pp. 86-87
Wednesday 10/16:Workbook 3A/Exercise 9 pp. 88-89
