Friday, November 15th: Turkey Trot - Students may wear P.E. uniform this day. They can also wear their Spirit Shirt with P.E. shorts or P.E. sweatpants.
Wednesday, November 20th - 22nd: Noon Dismissal for parent / teacher conferences
Monday, November 25th: Awards Assembly at 8 a.m.
Tuesday, November 26th: Thanksgiving Liturgy at 11 a.m. and dismissal at noon.
Wednesday, November 27th - 29th: Thanksgiving Break
Religion: We are studying the roles of the Pope, Bishops, and priest.
Reading: This week’s story is Red Light, Green Light, Mama and Me”. In this story the girl enjoys going to work with her mother.
Vocabulary: Our vocabulary words are mad, squeeze, practice, dusty, public, recognize, automatically, pile, stamp, and perched. In this story we will also learn to use context clues to help find the meaning of words.
Phonics: long i words spelled with the y, ie, ight, i, and i_e spelling patterns
Spelling Words: pie, night, fly, pile, child, right, shy, lie, mice, try, recognize, skyscraper, style, knight, and mighty
Grammar: We are learning about comparative adjectives and use the er and est ending to compare groups.
Science: The focus is on motion.
Math: We are starting our unit on multiplication. We are introduced to the “x” sign and learn that multiplication is making groups. For example: 4 x 5 is 4 groups with 5 items in each group. Please see your child’s “Friendly Notes” to learn more about what we are studying in class.
Social Studies: We learn that we can change the land by building on it and by planting crops for food.
