Hello Again,

Summer is slipping away and I know many of you may be looking for help with Kindergarten Readiness! I was just sitting down with my own daughter and plotting out what else we need to do for her! There are many quality YouTube videos that I will share with you during the year and it is always up to you what is best in your home.

LucyMax English (Four Step Phonics: Step 1 Phonics Sounds) is well worth their time! It is simple, slow, and clear. The videos are short! If your child does not know their upper and lowercase letters or their letter sounds, this is a great place to start! This is the same video that I suggested on the cover letter of our Summer Packet. It may seem simple, but that is exactly the clear direction that we want to build on!

The OT Guide is also a fantastic resource for parents that will teach you (the parent) how to instruct your child on how to properly use pencils and scissors. There are also great videos on how to use household objects and games to encourage the muscles to do these tasks.
