Spring Into Summer!
/Well it finally stopped raining and we found ourselves in Spring! Then when we finally came up for air after Easter we were full speed into our final topics, trips and celebrations! Reading Groups, Time, Money, Roller Skating, Swimming, Safety, Motion and more…
For those of us wrapping up Kinder together it has been such an adventure (a very wet adventure). For those coming into Kinder we are soon packing away the room with all of you on our hearts and minds for August! I am so thankful for the support and care of Mrs. A, my right-hand woman!
For those moving on to 1st Grade my recommendation for summer is a library card and a fist full of stickers to continue making as many sticker stories as you can. I would also encourage a blank comic book or blank write-in dictionary! A “My First Picture Dictionary” is also a great gift for the summer or step-by-step drawing books! Keep those reading and writing brains flowing! As for Math, letting them tell time and count change is an amazing way to keep all those 1’s, 5’s, and 10’s cemented in there for addition and subtraction.
If you are entering Kinder at the bottom of this class page you will see three buttons. The Supply List for the entire year. Kinder Readiness, which is both life skills & academic and Summer Work. My strong suggestion is to print out the Kinder Readiness ASAP during June and take an honest look starting with the life skills, then the academics. The Summer Work will cover much of what is in the Kinder Academic Readiness.
Look for Ms. Lenz out and about this summer! You might find me paddling at the SC Harbor or hiking our local trails. I love the farmer’s markets, local libraries and any craft fair I can find! My favorite beaches are Seacliff, Twin Lakes, or up the coast to Waddel Creek. You might find me at Roadhouse in Davenport, Cafe Palomar, Cruz Coffee Cafe, Jack’s Burgers or any other place with a warm patio! If you see me out and about please say, “Hi!”
