October: Settling into a new season

Hello Families,

I hope this finds you settling into a new season where we are not just back to school, but in the routines that are a calming fall. This week we will enjoy less distractions in our weekly schedule and continue working on our Unit 2 “Parts of A Story.” and “Concepts of Print.” Students are learning to read and write two letter words! We have also begun talking about how to read when you are new reader, such as scanning pictures ideas. In Math we will continue with writing numbers 0-10 in both print and words as well as counting orally from 0-20. In Religion we will work away from the classic Bible Stories (Creation, Noah, Joseph) and our discussions of the Mass Parts, and into using the Rosary as a path to understanding Jesus’ birth, ministry, death and resurrection. The season of fall is also full of wonderful fun and traditions! If you come to our room, you will see that we are moving out of Summer/Ocean and into Fall/Harvest/Happy Halloween.
