Week of 3/15/21

Good morning everyone,

I have a few updates for this week:

This Friday, March 19th, is a half-day so dismissal is at noon.

If possible, I am hoping you all can check the sweaters or cardigans you have at home to make sure they belong to your student. Periodically throughout the year, we always have these items go missing for multiple students, and have to do a routine check. We will be taking a "field trip" to the lost-and-found today, but sometimes these items accidentally go home with the wrong student. Additionally, it would be very helpful if all clothing was labeled with your student's name for easy identification. Thank you!

I wanted to let you all know that during one of my parent-teacher conferences a parent very helpfully informed me that Seesaw has an app you can get on your phone. Should you choose this option, this makes taking pictures of homework much easier and clearer. I would like to remind you that all homework should be submitted via Seesaw each night. If you have an issue, that is no problem, but please email me to let me know.

Finally, as you may know, each year we hold a "kindergarten promotion" to celebrate the hard work of our kinder students and recognize their moving-up a grade. Last year and this year will obviously look different in terms of the celebration, and I was hoping to get your help with making it really special for the students. My idea is to have each family record a short 5-10 second video (two if your student has multiple homes) with your student holding a sign surrounded by their family (pets included!). There will be directions to go with the specifications of the video, but I first wanted to make sure this would be do-able for all families. If you feel this is not possible, please email me and let me know and we can see if we can work something out. I really look forward to making this special for the kids and continuing this wonderful tradition, no matter what it looks like!

I hope you all have a wonderful week. Please let me know if you have any questions,

Miss Jones
