Greetings 8th grade scholars and families-

I’m so excited to be at Salesian this year! What a beautiful place! Thanks to the Salesian staff for being so nurturing and helpful over the summer.

I am an experienced educator who came from San Jose and has lived in Corralitos the past six years. My husband and I have kids and grandkids, along with lots of other family members, who live in different parts of California and beyond. We love being in the forest and we have several dogs, farm birds (including peacocks), a (mini?) pig, and a couple of cats. We are grateful for all of the opportunities for outdoor activities and like feeling less crowded. I went into teaching because I enjoy learning whether it be through taking a class, reading, or just talking with people who have had different experiences. I also enjoy working with young people so it made sense as a career path. Middle school is my preferred age group. It’s a challenging time in life where we make so much growth physically, academically, emotionally, and spiritually. I look forward to meeting all of my students and learning about what’s happening in your lives now and to hearing about your future goals.

This year’s schoolwide theme is “Bring Hope-Give Love”!!! Yes! We will dive into this during the first week of school! Be ready to talk about your hopes for this school year when we come into the room. What are your hopes for yourself, for our classroom, and for our community? We’ll also work on healthy ways of expressing love for ourselves and others and my hope is that we will have the best school year ever! My vision is that we will be working hard and also feeling super supported, successful, and loved.

Students, if you have time, please send me an email before school starts letting me know of anything you’d like to share with me about you or to just to say “hi”. Families, I extend the same invitation to you. My immediate hope is that we start the year confident that students’ needs will be met and that we’re all in this together!
