Hello Families,

I hope everyone had a very happy Halloween! Now onto November...The third grade is responsible for the All Saints Day Mass on Monday, and I’m sure it will be a special and memorable occasion for all of the third graders. I’m thankful for their religion teacher, Miss Croghan, for all the teaching and preparation she did to prepare the students to lead the Mass.

Tuesday, Nov. 9, is the end of the first trimester and the last day to take AR quizzes for this grading period. AR is available to students until 3:30 p.m., Monday-Friday. The company shuts the site down at 3:30 p.m.  I’m giving time to take quizzes each Thursday but with 7 days to go until the end of the trimester, I’m willing for students to take quizzes anytime their work is finished. If you’d like your child to stay until 3:30 to take quizzes, please send me an email so I know your child should take an AR test(s). Once a child reaches their goal, they continue to read and take quizzes.

Beginning in 3rd grade top AR point earners, as well as students with high GPAs with excellent conduct, will be recognized in Trimester Awards ceremonies. For more information about this, please read pages 8-9, in the Student Handbook on the school website.

There’s no spelling homework or spelling test this week. Spelling is always important but I need to focus our class and homework time on other priorities before the end of the trimester.

Wishing all of you a great week,

Mrs. Peet
