/Religion: Happy Easter & Divine Mercy Sunday! May you experience the Gift of Peace and Hope the Risen Lord brings with his Triumph over death. Pope Francis reminds us: "The Risen Lord is also the Crucified One. In his glorious body he bears indelible wounds: wounds that have become windows of hope. Let us turn our gaze to him that he may heal wounds of an afflicted humanity.
Reading: Our new lesson is a Folktale: "A Spoon for Every Bite." A poor couple invites their rich neighbor over for dinner. When their neighbor realizes that they only have three spoons, he brags that he is so rich he can use a different spoon for every bite, the wife declares that she knows someone that can use the spoon. The rich man spends all his money on spoons and demands to meet the person who can afford to use a different spoon for every bite. He is shocked to learn that that the spoons are not what the rich man expected,
Students will research Folktale from a country of their choice and present to the class.
Vocabulary: We will do Unit 13, "A New Puppy." A Realistic Fiction story.
Students will research people who have made a difference in the life of people.
Grammar: We will review Abbreviations and Titles of books, magazine, poems and articles.
