    • Correction: Salesian will start Catholic Schools Week at Resurrection on Sunday, January 29 and conclude the week at St. Joseph’s on Sunday, February 5.  Students should wear complete dress uniform to promote Salesian.

Students are putting their final touches on their “Immigrant Stories.”  Student wrote realistic fiction stories pretending to be an immigrant from Europe and coming through Ellis Island.  First, students decided on the country they would emigrate from and the reason why they wanted and/or needed to come to America.  The realistic part of the story was the country and the reason for their departure, they describe their experiences on ship, and what happen when they arrive at ELlis Island. They are very entertaining.

    Cricket in Times Square

    Cricket Cage Project

When Sai Fong brought out the cricket cage; Mario knew it was perfect for Chester. Sai Fong explained that it was an ancient cage which once belonged to the Emperor of China. The cage was in the shape of a small pagoda with seven tiers. It was painted red and green with a golden spire. There was a small gate with a latch at one side.

Use the space below to design your own cricket cage. Think about what materials and colors you would use to make a cricket cage. After you sketch your cage use your plans to construct an actual cage.  Cages due on Monday, December 5.

Be creative and use things around the house.
Have fun and get your parents involved!
