Dear Salesian Family, October 3, 2016
Happy Month of the Rosary! October is the month dedicated to the rosary and we are inviting you participate in our Family Rosary Nights. The evenings are led by the various grades but ALL are welcomed to attend! It is important to note that as a Catholic School we are required to teach and expose the children to various types of prayers.
The"Catechism of the Catholic Church" teaches us about various types of prayer including vocal prayer, meditation, and contemplation. The rosary is a vocal prayer, a meditation and can lead to contemplation as Pope Paul II mentioned in his encyclical "Rosary of the Virgin Mary."

Rosary Boxes will be sent home beginning tomorrow. All students will have the possibility to take a Rosary Box home. If your child comes home with it, we encourage you to pray the rosary as a family and then return the rosary box to school the next day.
October is also mission month. We are participating in the "The Right to Education" initiative in South Sudan. All our Canteen funds for the month of October will be for this project. The money collected will go towards the purchase of books for the children who cannot afford to buy them. Please see the attached document that tells more about this initiative.
Thank you in advance and I look forward to seeing you as we gather to pray for the needs of our school families and for peace in our world.
United in joy and hope,
Sr. Ignacia Carrillo, FMA
